Tootsie Roll Tuesday 2021-14

One of my favorite Mary Engelbreit images to accompany this Robert Whalen quote.  The multiple meanings of the quote allow it to be applied to so many situations and the one I have been reflecting on lately was a mission trip I took to Honduras many years ago.  Our mission was to deliver the joy of art to a group of orphaned children, children diagnosed with AIDS, and a young boy's farming community.  All of these children were living in these communities without their parents but were fortunate enough to have found their spots in these communities of safety, hope, education, and healing.  During our time in these communities we had also found our spot to share our skills, our time, and our compassion.  And to our amazement, we met the woman who made this spot of light possible - Sor María Rosa Leggol.  Tootsie Roll and I invite you to visit these Honduran spots and to spend time with, reflect on, talk to some of your favorite "spots".

Nuevo Paraíso  The "spot" for orphaned Honduran children

Montaña de Luz  The "spot" for Honduran children living with AIDS
Flor Azul  The "spot" for orphaned boys to learn the trade of farming

Sor María Rosa  May she find her "spot" to rest in peace

The "spot" a Honduran family calls home
