JOY!
This past Sunday marked an end to a week of Thanksgiving Break. A break from work, from routines, from the normal day to day. Tootsie Roll and crew took time that day to enjoy a little nature with a 4 mile hike at Fort Benjamin Harrison State Park in Indianapolis. Tootsie Roll had recently acquired a new back pack for a little portage on long walks and we were excited to give it a try. As it was a crisp day Tootsie Roll walked all but about 30 minutes of the hike and it was such a JOY to watch her trot along, sniff the piles of leaves; as we all communed with Mother Nature. While on foot and in tow Tootsie Roll got a lot of smiles and compliments which brought continued JOY! We picked up a few acorn tops along the way to continue the craft project started over Thanksgiving break with my mom, sister and niece - super amounts of JOY! And when we were finally back home Tootsie Roll settled in for a long, well-deserved nap while the humans decorated the fresh Christmas tree - amazing amounts of JOY! I have a feeling we will carry this JOY in our hearts for many days to come and I hope that before it is a distant memory we can find the time for another day to commune with Mother Nature:)
