And it seems I am not the only one that thinks a dog's paw pads smell like corn chips. Do you know why that is? Well, that corny smell is a by-product of yeast and bacteria called proteus or pseudonomas that are found in soil and water. These bacteria get into the crevices of a dog's paw and produce that salty, snack-like smell. Well, whatever the cause, I am truly grateful for that Frito-esque smell that wafts from Tootsie Roll's paws today and everyday!
