The third Monday in February is an American holiday now known as President's Day. It was established in 1885 and celebrated the birthday of President George Washington; whose birthday is actually on February 22. The Uniform Monday Holiday Act of 1971 officially put President's Day on the third Monday in order to create more three-day weekends for the nation's workers and changed the focus to a day in which we honor all U.S. presidents past and present!
