Presidential Pugs

The third Monday in February is an American holiday now known as President's Day. It was established in 1885 and celebrated the birthday of President George Washington; whose birthday is actually on February 22.  The Uniform Monday Holiday Act of 1971 officially put President's Day on the third Monday in order to create more three-day weekends for the nation's workers and changed the focus to a day in which we honor all U.S. presidents past and present!

25 U.S. Presidents were dog lovers, but none of them were pugs...so disappointing!  Although President Clinton did have a lab!

Minnie and Maxie Pugs are not to impressed with their near-run-in with President Obama according to this YouTube clip:

And here are a few side-by-side president to pug comparisons:

okay...no side-by-side needed with this one!

Tootsie Roll would recommend either a TootsUncommon FireCracker or The Little Black PUPlum for any presidential occasion your furry friend might have on his or her calendar!  Happy President's Day!
