What an amazing idea. The pool is closed for the season, but open one last Saturday for the dogs to go swimming. Carmel Clay Parks & Recreation invites the community to bring out four-legged friends for a day at the Monon Community Center Waterpark. Vendors booths will have extra goodies and activities. Receive vaccinations from staff at the Low Cost Spay and Neuter Clinic or possibly adopt a dog. Fee for vaccinations are dependent upon personal needs of each pet and are set by the clinic.
Dogs less than 25 pounds will be able to swim from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. From 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., both large and small dogs will be able to compete in our Best owner/pet look-a-like competition and a Fetch contest. While the dog competitions are under-way, dogs must be on leashes at all times. At 3 p.m. small dogs will be able to visit vendor booths while large dogs come out to play. The large dog swim will be from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Fee is $6 per dog for the dog swim portion of the event. Please remember to pick up all waste from your dog. Pre-registration is required to participate in the competitions and is strongly encouraged for the vaccine portion of the event.
